The Pain Game

"It's not too often that we get a video at Blowfish that we're truly and tremendously excited about. We get a fair number of videos that we like, ones we think are pretty cool or pretty hot or pretty whatever, and we're perfectly happy to have these in our catalog. But videos that we love, videos that make us sit up straight in our chairs with our jaws dropped and our eyes wide open, videos that make us want to personally phone everyone on our mailing list to tell them that they have to buy it right this second...well, we don't see too many of those. So when we do see one, we like to make a bit of a fuss about it.

"The Pain Game by Cleo Dubois is one of these. It's magnificent. It's stunning. It's powerful. It's just about every superlative we can think of. It's one of the best SM videos we've seen, ever. So we are therefore making a bit of a fuss.

"Partly an informational and demonstration video, and partly a purely "this stuff is amazing and fun to watch" video, The Pain Game captures the feel, the emotion, the sheer joy of SM play, better than almost any video we've seen. The scenes are intense and authentic, with a strong, real, loving connection between Cleo and her submissives (a handsome older gentleman named Brad, and a striking younger woman called Creed). There's some powerful and fascinating stuff going on -- whipping, bondage, cock play, clothespins, and piercing -- and you get a good, clear look at all of it. But there's also close and loving attention to faces and body language, giving a vivid impression, not just of what's being done, but of how it all feels. And Cleo's narration is intelligent, articulate, and insightful.

"It's common for sex videos to have either good production values or hot, wild sex, but not both. The ones with good, professional lighting and sound and camerawork are often on the passionless side, with actors who are all too clearly acting; and the passionate ones, the ones with performers who are having a genuinely grand old time doing it on camera, often look and sound like they were recorded in someone's basement with a K mart camera. But not The Pain Game. The Pain Game has both, the all-too-rare combination of professional quality and passionate intensity. It's seriously well-made, with first-class production values; a creative and expressive sound design, camerawork that's interesting without being distracting, and music that you might actually want to listen to. It's a complete and utter pleasure to watch. If you have any interest at all in SM videos, we think you'll be proud to have this one in your collection."
